March Itinerary -- here it is!

Hello, travelers!

This is Andrea from Nummy Kitchen and I am so happy to be helping Lauren out with MKMW while she is busy with buying and selling a house! We all know what a challenge that can be, so I am posting our March itinerary...

March 7th -- Spain

and

March 21st -- Ireland

Lauren and I thought it would be great to revisit Ireland in March because of St. Patrick's Day, doesn't that sound fun?

Remember that we are now doing only two countries a month, posting dates are the first and third Saturdays (listed with countries).

We hope that everyone is as excited as we are about getting back to our MKMW travels and can't wait to see what everyone comes up with for Spain and Ireland. I was thinking of doing a round-up for each country, check back on posting day and let us know if you were able to participate.

If you have a country you'd like to visit let us know, and we will add it to the itinerary for next month. You can leave your suggestions in a comment or message us, whichever way is fine.

Happy travels,

Andrea

Back on track . . . with help!!

Hi everyone,

I apologize profusely for my neglect . . . we are in the middle of purchasing and selling a home . . . escrows and inspections leave little tie for traveling, culinary or otherwise.  But My Kitchen My World is pleased to announce we are taking off again and hope you are all still along for the ride!  I am please to say that we will now be co-moderated by Andrea of Nummy Kitchen, who has graciously given me a kick in the you know where and has offered to help make sure we depart on time each month!  We have realized that traveling every week can lead to some serious jet lag, so we are going to adapt our itineraries a bit.  We will be traveling 2 times a month, destinations being announced in advance.  We are asking for postings to be done on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month.  Sound good?

We will begin our new adventures in March- look for destinations soon!

As always, destination suggestions always welcome!

Happy Travels,

Lauren

Week 28 . . . Azerbaijan!

Hello travelers!

A while back, Elra gave me a list of places she'd like us to travel, and Azerbaijan is (I think) the last and most interesting one.  Here is what she has to say about it:  "Azery's cooking is very unique. It is influencde by Iranian cooking with its own uniqueness. Have you heard Rose Petal Jam? Yes, Azery people love jams, they even serve jams with tea (instead of sugar cubes)."

I know very little about this country and am looking forward to learning more about it as I learn about its food.

I am about to make myself some tea now, and ponder next weeks menu.  Now will I add sugar, lemon, or jam?

Happy Travels!

Lauren

We're Back! Week 27 (and a half)- Cuba !

Welcome back everyone!

I've returned from my travels, have settled back at work, and am already getting a feeling of wanderlust! If anyone is interested in a report from Spain and Portugal, check it out here!

I'm ready to go someplace warm- how about you?  My co-worker just got back from New Year's in South Beach, Miami, and I've been inspired to taste some Cuban food, how does that sound?

Since this is Thursday, I figured we'll work on this one until the end of next week, so look for our next itinerary on January 18th!  Ideas for it?  Email me at illeatyoublog@gmail.com!

Also, please welcome our newest travelling companion, Collen from As Is Proper

Happy Travels,

Lauren

Week 26- The Philippines!

Off to the Philippines this week!

Here's what wikipedia can tell us about their cuisine:

"Philippine cuisine has evolved over several centuries from its Malay roots to a cuisine of predominantly Spanish base, due to the many Mexican and Spanish dishes brought to the islands during the colonial period. It has also received influence from Arab, Indian, Chinese, Japanese, and American cooking."

sounds good to me!

Happy Travels,

Lauren

P.S.  Look for a special itinerary next week to get us through the holiday season.  I don't think it's practical for us to "travel" over the next weeks considering how busy I'm sure we all will be.

Week 25 . . . France!

Bonjour mes amis!  This week we are going to France!

Where will you visit?  A boulangerie in Paris?  A rustic meal in Provence?   Vacation cuisine from the cote d'azur?

Bon Voyage!

Please notice I've added a map that tracks where we've been in our travels together.  I think it'll be fun to update it and watch is cover the map!
