Canada Round-Up and September Destination

Hello MKMW friends! I'm so excited to be posting our Canada round-up, what a great selection of dishes! Love to and from this beautiful country is evident throughout the posts, enjoy...

First up we have new traveler Azee at Azee's Kitchen Blog who made Homemade Donuts, don't they look delicious? I just love the sprinkles!

~~~
Next up is our friend at Torview who made a traditional Canadian bar treat, Nanaimo Bars, they look so rich and tasty.
~~~

We have a second new traveler this month for our trip to Canada, a new friend at The Taste Space made a gorgeous dessert of Wild Rice Pudding with Rhubarb Compote.

~~~
Nanaimo Bars were a popular choice, also baked by Jill Jill's Blog, these look so good, they are going on my must bake soon list!
~~~

Another amazing looking Canadian dessert is up next, Canadian Maple Sugar Pie from Lexi at Big Momma and Me, yum!

~~~
Next up is a delicious breakfast treat, Canadian Maple Walnut Muffins, made by Chaya at Chaya's Comfy Cook Blog, they look wonderful!
~~~

Our last three dishes are savory Canadian specialties...

Peggy at Pantry Revisited has treated us to a hearty dinner of Pork Chops with Apples and Creamy Corn Soup, what great flavors.

~~~
Kayte at Grandma's Kitchen Table made a gorgeous a meat pie called Tourtiere with a cute little maple leaf cut-out on the top crust, what a special touch!
~~~

Last but not least is Margaret at Tea and Scones also added a special touch to the top crust of her Salmon and Potato Pie, and don't forget to see check-out her delicious butter tarts she made for dessert!

~~~~~~~~~~~~
Thank you to everyone who participated in MKMW destination Canada! I enjoyed traveling along with everyone, although did not have time to post my Canadian treat yet. Sorry guys, we've just been super busy lately.
~~~~~~

Time for our September destination...

Morocco! Thank you to Leslie for the suggestion, can't wait to see what you all come up with! Please make a Moroccan dish and post it to your blog with a link back to My Kitchen My World, check-in here with a comment and a link to your MKMW Morocco post by then end of the month.

Please feel free to make a country suggestion for October in the comments as well :)

Happy travels,

Andrea

Lovely round-up. As a Canadian, I sometimes have to be reminded what traditional Canadian cuisine is. :)

Here is my Moroccan contribution: http://tastespace.wordpress.com/2010/08/20/apricot-parcels-with-honey-glaze/

All of these dishes are truly Canadadian. The only food I would add would be butter tarts and poutine for Canadian classics.This was a great roundip!

I almost did poutine and I want someone to prepare that and let me taste it! :) Seriously, what a great roundup of dishes this month. Can't wait for Morocco!

I was looking through the archives and is it true you have yet to do Japan?

Mexico seems to be very popular, though. ;)

I love Moroccan food. My entry is Chicken Tagine cooked in the slow cooker.

I like Torviewtoronto's suggestion of Afghanistan. It would be an interesting cuisine to research.
