Week Eighteen . . . Cambodia!!!

My first pick for our culinary travels together will be Cambodia.  I am a HUGE fan of Cambodian food.  My husband and I spent time there on our honeymoon and was surprisingly blown away by the tastyness of the food.  It is heavily influenced by both eastern and southern asian culinary traditions.

On a side note, thank you to all who left me such kind words of welcome as the new moderator.  Let's keep this event going and lets help it grow together!  I'm looking forward to many delicious travels together!

Nice! I love Cambodian food. I have traveled around SE Asia but have yet to make it there. It is definitely high on my travel list.

Sounds great! I don't know that I have ever had Cambodian food but I am a fan of Tam from Under the Tamarind Tree and am sure I can find something yummy on his site.
I was surprised how much they were influenced by the French. (Shows my lack of Global knowledge!)

Cambodia seems exciting as I've never eaten that cuisine.

I do have to admit though, that I'm hoping next week's selector picks Germany so we can have some good October-fest (sp) grub!

Very exciting, I am sorry that I've missed the Argentinean last week. It was one of those day that you've planned something, but couldn't really do it. I will definitely not going to miss this one, as I really like SE Asian food, and Cambodia is one of them. Thank's for choosing CAMBODIA!

I am definitely participating this week. We won't be doing it until Sunday though so the post will be up Sunday after dinner!

I just found this site, how fun!

Natashya, do you have a link to Under the Tamarind Tree? I tried googling it, but only found dead links.
