Turkey Round-up and May Countries Announced

Good morning My Kitchen My World friends,

We had a very nice turn-out for My Kitchen My World -- Turkey, here is our round-up...

Lauren at I'll Eat You made a delicious looking dinner of some Mucver, zucchini fritters with yogurt dipping sauce and a tomato salad, yum!

Joanna at In Search of Lost Time made a feast of flat bread, baba ghanoush, and chicken schwarma which she describes as a heavily spiced, Middle-Eastern take on gyros, sounds wonderful to me!

Colleen at As Is Proper made a dish of Turkish Noodles and Meatballs, served with mini pitas, hummus, and salad greens, which she called a totally kid friendly, fun, Turkish meal. Sounds like it was a bit hit for her family!

Christine at Kits Chow made Zerde, a Turkish Saffron Rice Pudding perfumed with Rose Water, which looks absolutely delicious served in those pretty little cups. She also has some very interesting history on the dish and on the Turkish Festival of Sweets on her site, doesn't that sound like fun?

Rosabela at Cooking with Rosie made a bulger dish called Kisir, which introduced her to a new ingredient. What a beautiful lunch!

Also from Rosa, we have Cucumber Soup with Garlic Shrimp over basmati rice, which she made for our last trip, My Kitchen My World -- Guatemala. Looks like a lunch from a fine restaurant, mmm!

Finishing off our round-up, over at Nummy Kitchen I made a delicious Turkish Rice Pilaf with Eggplant and Pistachios, which had some surprising ingredient combinations that worked well together in the end.

And now for the moment you've all been waiting for (right?)...

For the month of May, My Kitchen My World will be "visiting" Mexico -- posting day Saturday, May 9th. Lauren and I thought it would be fun to revisit Mexico to go along with Cinco de Mayo this month.

And our second country for the month, randomly selected -- Pakistan! Posting day for Pakistan will be Saturday, May 23rd. Get on your thinking caps, or should I say cooking caps, and find a Pakistani recipe or two to try.

Thanks for cooking along with us, I can't wait to see the dishes everyone comes up with for Mexico and Pakistan :)

Happy travels,
Andrea

Sorry I haven't participated in a long time. I'm on the blog roll, but haven't done anything MKMW for a couple months. I'm pregnant (yay!) and still trying to adjust to all the physical changes going on (morning sickness is a killer!). But I think and hope that this month I can get myself back in the game. Mexico - I think I can do that! I may cheat and have my husband help with the cooking part...but I'll do the planning and posting. :-)

All the turkish dishes look wonderful guys! So delicious.
